Job Title: Clinical Lead - Health Surveillance
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Monday to Friday
Location: Home based within the UK, with travel as required
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience, plus car allowance and competitive benefits package
As Clinical Lead in our Health Surveillance team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the delivery of high-quality, clinically robust health surveillance services across Medigold Health’s nationwide client base. You will provide expert leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure services are delivered safely, consistently, and in full compliance with occupational health legislation and best practice.
You will work closely with Occupational Health Advisors, Screening Nurses, and Technicians, supporting them through clinical supervision, audit, and peer review, while acting as the point of escalation for complex cases. Through your expertise and leadership, you will help develop clinical capability across the team, fostering confidence, consistency, and excellence in decision-making and service delivery.
Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will contribute to the strategic development and continuous improvement of Medigold’s health surveillance services. Partnering with senior clinical leaders, operational teams, and clients, you will help shape service enhancements, support new initiatives, and ensure our health surveillance services continue to meet the evolving needs of modern workplaces. You will also act as an ambassador for Medigold Health, promoting the full breadth of occupational health services and building trusted relationships with clients.

Main Objectives
Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the safe, effective, and legally compliant delivery of all health surveillance activities
To monitor and supervise as appropriate the clinical delivery of health surveillance by OHAs, screening nurses, and OH Technicians ensuring the provision of advice is of the highest standard at all times.
Support clinical supervision/peer and team audit in relation to service delivery of health surveillance as identified.
To act as the health surveillance subject matter expert, internally and externally, and encourage the professional development of other clinicians.
To act as an ambassador for Medigold and promote the full range of Occupational Health Services available.
Audit health surveillance activities to ensure clinical standards of best practice are followed and company policies and procedures are adhered to, liaising with the Head of Clinical Governance as required.
Act as the clinical point of escalation for complex or borderline results, providing guidance to OHAs, screening nurses, and OH Technicians.
Contribute to strategic development and continuous improvement of the health surveillance service.
Specific Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including COSHH, Control of Noise at Work Regulations, RIDDOR, and HSE guidance.
Develop, review and maintain clinical protocols, SOPs, and quality assurance frameworks in line with relevant legislation.
Lead clinical audit cycles and implement improvements based on findings.
Represent the clinical team in strategic development and business improvement of health surveillance.
Encourage collaborative relationships with other business areas to support continuous improvement and team building.
Work in partnership with the Senior Clinical Leadership Team and Director of Health Services to ensure high‑quality, consistent standards are maintained across all Medigold clients.
Work closely with new and existing clients to develop, improve and enhance service delivery to support the health needs of their workforce, including the introduction of new services.
Where appropriate, attend tender presentations, client implementation and review meetings as required.
Work autonomously and as part of the Medigold Health multi-disciplinary team to ensure that a satisfactory level of service is provided to all clients and their employees achieving service level agreements.
Oversee the provision and where appropriate the delivery of CPD and other training requirements to ensure compliance.
To practise within the scope of the NMC professional practice and Code of Conduct and to work according to qualification, experience and competency.
Where relevant and required undertake health surveillance clinics and provide Occupational Health advice to clients. Ensure own skills and competencies are maintained in order to achieve this.
Ensure accurate use of clinical IT systems and maintain secure, GDPR‑compliant records.
Encourage collaborative working to support innovation and service enhancement.
Requirements for this role
Essential
Registered Nurse (NMC) with relevant post-registration experience.
Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health Nursing.
Significant experience in Occupational Health, including the delivery of health surveillance programmes.
Experience conducting HAVS Tier 3 assessments.
Demonstrated clinical leadership experience.
Strong understanding of health & safety and occupational health legislation and regulatory requirements.
Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide expert clinical advice.
Desirable
NEBOSH qualification (or willingness to train).
Experience in quality improvement, audit, or clinical governance roles.
Teaching, mentoring, or coaching qualification.
