Sales Consultant - Occupational Health & Wellbeing
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm
Location: Home based with national travel
Salary: £40,000 per annum + uncapped commission (c. £55k OTE)

We’re looking for an experienced B2B sales professional with experience of the health, wellbeing or employee benefits services industry who’s ready to take their career to the next level. In this role you’ll grow, convert and continually replenish a pipeline of new occupational health & wellbeing business consisting predominantly of mid-market and large corporate clients (between c.1,000 – 5,000 emps) using your developing market knowledge, networking and intelligent prospecting exercises, assisted at points by the considerable Medigold Health sales and marketing team. The role will incorporate an annual revenue target, attract generous uncapped commission and may require travel across the UK to meet clients and build your network, although virtual meetings are commonplace.
Main Objectives
- Contribute meaningfully to the business development strategy in corporate occupational health & wellbeing services, collaborating with the Sales Director, CRO and other occupational health sales professionals.
- Build and continually replenish a pipeline of relevant, qualified new & incremental opportunities to establish a strong personal pipeline and create long-term value for the business. Work closely with the Bid Team to deliver high quality submissions and maintain your own quick-turnaround proposal documents.
- Enthusiastically take on the challenge of learning and/or growing in this high-demand, complex market. Build your network (internally & externally) and ensure you remain coachable and curious.
Specific Responsibilities
- Contribute meaningfully to the growth strategy of the occupational health & wellbeing services area of Medigold Health, taking input regarding your focal points from the Sales Director and CRO
- Take the time to learn and understand Medigold Health’s services, and design a personal sales plan defining target markets, competitor propositions and helping to best position yourself for sales success
- Actively target new opportunities, initially through a self-generated sales approach and/or through guiding our Bid Team’s market scanning exercises, and then by close work with our Marketing and Campaigning teams.
- Use Salesforce to log and report accurately on all sales leads and opportunities (full training will be given).
- Ensure that your business diary is updated with your sales activity, appointments or any other networking events.
- Join all regular Sales Team meetings to share updates, take questions and forecast your performance in an ongoing way.
- Using your own genuine interest in helping employers with health, wellbeing, risk and compliance, develop a deep and passionate knowledge of Medigold Health’s products and services.
- Use our library of sales, marketing and proposal drafting tools to independently produce material to support the progression and nurturing of your opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Bid Team, offering guidance, bid strategy and written contributions to produce high quality bid submissions, positioned for success.
- Work with the various Medigold Health divisions to agree sales conversion, handover and implementation methods for new sales.
- Design, plan and contribute meaningfully to the implementation of new client contracts
- Manage your personal pipeline, make regular updates and keep the wider team informed.
- Attend symposiums and events (both those planned by our Marketing team and any others you see fit) to generate brand & product awareness amongst the target audience of partners and their clients.
- Ensure that you are consistently generating new leads via prospecting/contact strategies, networking, speaking & online content and revisiting dormant opportunities.
- Target three sales/partnership meetings (virtual/f2f) on a weekly basis to maintain good sales momentum.
Requirements for this role
- A committed Sales/Business Development professional, content to prospect, network and work to a financial target.
- Happy to travel in order to galvanise new relationships and attend meetings.
- Confident, articulate and engaging communication skills.
- Thorough researcher who uses initiative and builds on previous ideas to identify prospective sales channels.
- 3-5 years’ experience striving for and meeting targets in B2B sales, ideally selling services or SaaS to HR or Health & Safety buyers.
- A good grasp of related workplace health/employee benefits services would be an advantage.
- A skilled relationship & rapport builder with persuasive skills and a commercial mind.
- You will need to have excellent writing ability and a strong command of the English language.
- You need to be confident conversing & presenting to all types of people & groups, with the ability to adapt your style to suit the occasion.
- This is a high performing B2B sales environment, meaning we work to deadlines, think quickly and always act professionally.
- A positive and tenacious attitude, resilient and self-aware.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS office (Word, Excel, PPT).
- Experience using Salesforce Development Console (Salesforce), although training will be provided.
